Humanure Update (June 8, 2017)

After two years of letting our first humanure pile sit undisturbed (i.e. no new material added, no turning over, etc.), here's what we got...

Pure, dry, humus with no trace of the source material (i.e. no fecal or food remnants whatsoever). It smelled like fresh, concentrated earth!

AND... confirmation that plastic does NOT decompose! Behold a piece of tarp inside the pile that looks completely unblemished...
